   • Apply a tourniquet to the patient’s arm and locate a suitable vein.

   • Clean the area with an alcohol swab.

   • Insert the needle into the vein and allow the blood to flow into the vial.

3. Ensure Proper Mixing (if needed):

   • Gently invert the vial 5-10 times if it contains an additive.

   • Do not shake, as it may cause hemolysis (breaking of blood cells).

4. Label the Vial:

   • Write the patient’s details, test name, and collection time on the vial.

5. Store and Transport Properly:

   • Place the vials in a biohazard bag and send them to the laboratory for analysis.
